Clean financials, ready when owners ask.

Blue Ocean Strategic Partners runs accounting and automation for hotel management companies, ownership groups and private equity sponsors. Every balance is tied to its source, so your team spends its time explaining the numbers, not assembling the support behind them.

We work inside the systems you already run, and nothing posts to your books without a person approving it.

What we do

01

Finance automation

The daily accounting work, run in our portal, with your team reviewing instead of keying.

  • Accounts payable: invoices arrive in one AP inbox, are matched to purchase orders and receivings, and post to your ERP in one submit. Nothing is suggested for payment before the goods arrive.

  • Hotel reconciliations: card sales traced from the point of sale to the bank, and awards redemptions matched to the reimbursement the hotel receives, with every difference explained.

  • Balances you can prove: bank, balance sheet, payroll and fixed asset reconciliations, plus CapEx approvals tracked to completion, each with a sign-off.

Usually owned by the CFO, VP Finance or corporate controller

02

Accounting for new acquisitions

When a hotel or portfolio changes hands, numbers the sponsor can stand behind, without waiting for a new finance team.

  • Books taken over and tied out: every balance reconciled to the entity's own source records, starting from legacy ERPs or spreadsheets.

  • Audit and ERP conversion: we act as the auditors' point of contact, answer their questions with evidence, and keep the books steady through a move to a new system.

  • Interim CFO: our principal leads finance, on site if needed, sets up owner reporting, then hands a documented finance function to the company's own team.

Usually owned by the PE sponsor, asset manager or ownership group

03

Enterprise reporting & analytics

Reporting built on reconciled numbers, so decisions don't wait on the close.

  • KPI dashboard: AR aging, cash, payroll and close status in one view.

  • Reporting package: assembles itself and publishes when complete, with budget vs. actual and your commentary flowing in.

  • Flux and variance analysis: what changed and why, with the transactions behind it.

Usually owned by the CFO and asset management team

04

Operational workflow automation

Approvals, hand-offs and follow-ups moved out of email and into a workflow.

  • Month-end close from one checklist that locks when it's done, instead of chasing status across emails.

  • Approvals routed by department and user, with delegation when an approver is out.

  • Project tracking with AI-written meeting summaries and action items

Usually owned by the COO, VP Operations and general managers

05

Custom AI & decision support

AI that works on your own data, with a person making the call.

  • Assistants that answer from your own documents and data

  • AI-assisted review that sorts and summarizes before a person decides

  • Automation for Excel, PDF and email work that used to be done by hand

Usually owned by the CIO, CTO or strategy lead

How we work

  1. 01

Accounting as a service, or your team in our portal.

Our accountants run the work in the portal, or your team uses the same portal with the same procedures behind it. Either way, the standard is audit-ready financials.

  2. 02

    Your system keeps the ledger.

The portal is the workflow around it, with data arriving by API, file pickup or upload. We've worked in NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, QuickBooks, Epicor, Xero, M3, JobBoss and Agilysys.

  3. 03

    Start where it matters most.

You pick the first modules, and add more as needed.

Control built in: nothing posts without a person approving it, journals are numbered in sequence and checked against your chart of accounts, duties are separated between preparing and approving, and every action is recorded in an audit log that can't be altered.
